Traced. Picture just like it in Google Images. Search L.A. He just put the pic and everytime he saved, he erased the pic so the picture wouldn't show when people watched the vid. Then he put the picture againg and erased it before he saved. So the system doesn't show the pic on the vid. Try it.
(Telamon) It looks just like the photo, because thats the photo I looked at when I painted it. It doesn't mean it's traced. You should watch the playback. ps: The gallery doesn't support photos, so all of this complicated removing the picture every time saving would be pointless.
you & a very small handful of very talented artists are taking this artform onto a whole new level...the photorealism combined with the 3d in this marvelous painting makes me feel like i could just reach out & open a window in LA & hear the sounds of a car chase mixed with the latest club mix! You make me miss LA a lot (sniff!) I bow to you & to others like you who make being a part of this community a privilage...we get to see what few people do-amazing art...IN 3D!
It really is quite incredible how you can do this and I bow to your far superior talent.
However, I would prefer you to paint some more pictures that were not photorealistic. If I wanted to look at a photo I would look at a photo. Your other pictures (e.g. The Beach at Brighton Hove, Two More Bottles of Wine, Fish and Kelp, Widows' Waltz) are far more interesting to look at and examine.
Again, these are incredibly good, but your other work is far more "interesting".
@DylDoe: I agree with you, so I want you to understand my thinking in painting this. First of all, this is the type of painting that I would have loved to be able to paint when I was younger, so it appeals to my inner child. Also, after painting photorealism, I am much more equipped to do surrealism, so this painting is really just a step in an incompleted goal. Another thing is that good original ideas are harder to mentally generate than just finding a good photo to paint on google. But trust me, you are the type of person who I would like as an audience, so I thank you for your criticism. It really just justifies what I was thinking myself.
Fair enough. Excellent answer. Keep on doing what you need to do to push yourself further. I can't argue with that at all.
Also, thank you for not taking my earlier comment in a bad way. It was always meant as a compliment.

Love downtown L.A. I live in Riverside county so I dont frequent down to L.A. as much, but when I do and happen to pass by the buildings, I feel like a little kid going to Disneyland or something, It all looks so pretty from a close distance. Great work, I am jealous of peoples abilities to paint photo realistic art like this, here's hopeing I can achieve this amount of skill someday, as for you, love your works, keep at it good sir.
